Box Score The women's soccer team returned home for their home opener with Gannon on Saturday afternoon. The teams battled two weather delays in the first 12 minutes of action before being able to return to the field. Gannon scored the lone goal in the first half. SHU answered with a goal but the Knights added two goals in the second half for a 3-1 win. SHU falls to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in PSAC play.
Seton Hill came out of the gates strong controlling play for the games first three minutes before the first lightning delay of the half. After nine more minutes of play, there was another lightning delay. Gannon finally broke thru in the 27
th minute after a thru ball from midfield got behind the Griffin backline and the Knights were able to beat the SHU keeper.
The Griffins tied the score in the 58
th minute off a free kick.
Emma Bearinger took the free kick and found
Hanna Marks in the box and Marks finished with a header to tie the score at one. Gannon answered back ten minutes later with a goal off a corner kick and a scrum in front of the net to take a 2-1 lead. A minute and thirty three later the Knights added a goal to take a 3-1 lead.
Jessica Neill recorded five saves in net.
SHU will host California on Wednesday at 4 PM.
