Box Score The Griffin football team opened their 2015 season on the road with a non conference matchup with PSAC foe Shippensburg on Saturday afternoon. Shippensburg jumped out to a 27-7 halftime lead and cruised to a 64-14 victory.
Shippensburg scored twice in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead after one quarter. The Raiders scored from one yard out with 8:49 to play in the first quarter to take a 7-0 lead. Ship followed that up with another one yard touchdown plunge on their next drive to push the lead to 14-0 with 4:01 remaining in the first quarter.
The Griffins finally cracked the scoreboard on their first drive of the second quarter. The Griffins traveled 70 yards on 8 plays to cut the lead to 14-7.
Khalil Howard scored from 4 yards out for the touchdown at the 12:55 mark of the quarter.
Brandon Stout set up the drive with a 29 yard rush on the first play of the drive. Ship increased their lead to 20-7 with a 38 yard touchdown pass at the 6:18 mark of the second quarter. The Raiders added a 19 yard TD pass with 40 seconds left in the half to take a 27-7 lead.
Larry Joshua returned the kickoff to the Ship 47 to set up the Griffins final drive of the half. After three incompletions,

Jarvis McClam with a 46 yard pass to move the ball to the one yard line with 3 seconds to play. Howard was then stopped on the next play short of the goal line and the half ended.
Shippesburg opened the half with a 36 yard field goal to push their lead to 30-7. On the next Griffin possession, SHU was sacked and fumbled the ball and Shippensburg recovered the ball and went in from 13 yards out for a 37-7 lead with 12:10 left in the third period. Ship continued to extend their lead on their next possession with a 30 yard touchdown pass with 10:23 left in the third period. Seton Hill completed a 15 play, 74 yard drive with a 9 yard touchdown pass from Pietrangelo to
Nick Halfhill with 4:51 to play in the third quarter. The Raiders scored twice more before they intercepted a pass with 38 seconds and returned it for 29 yards for the game's final score.
Dan Pietrangelo was 25-46 for 255 yards and 1 touchdown.
Jarvis McClam pulled in 6 receptions for 80 yards.
Ardell Brown added 4 receptions for 49 yards.
Brandon Stout rushed for 55 yards on 17 carries.
