The Griffin men's soccer team opened their 2015 season by hosting Wheeling Jesuit at Dick's Sporting Goods Field on Thursday afternoon.  The Cardinals scored twice in the games first fifteen minutes and did not give up a goal the rest of the way for a 2-0 victory.

The Cardinals opened the scoring at the 8:25 mark of the first half when they picked up a loose ball near the top of the box and put it in the back of the net.  WJU made it 2-0 seven minutes later when they beat a Griffin defender and then beat the SHU keeper for a 2-0 lead.  SHU held a 5-4 advantage in shots in the first half.  The Griffins continued to try and find the back of the net in the second half as they held an 8-5 advantage in shots but could not find the back of the net.

Cameron Evans recorded 4 saves in net.

SHU will travel to Lake Erie on Saturday.
