Box Score Seton Hill hosted #23 Edinboro on Tuesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The game saw seven goals scored in the first half with Edinboro holding a 4-3 lead. The second half was all Fighting Scots as they scored all three goals of the half for the 7-3 win. SHU drops to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in PSAC play. Edinboro improves to 4-1 overall and 3-1 in PSAC play.
The Griffins got onto the scoreboard early in the first half as
Emily LoPresti found the back of the net just 2:22 into the first half.
Emma Bearinger found LoPresti with a perfect through ball from the midfield and LoPresti was able to beat her defender and find the back of the net. It didnt take Edinboro long to answer as they scored less than two minutes later to tie the score at one. Edinboro took the lead in the 8th minute and made it 3-1 with a goal in the 13th minute. The Griffins cut the lead to 3-2 in the 23rd minute.
Megan Warman found the head of
Brooke Richtik off a corner kick and Richtik put the ball into the back of the net off the corner. At the 31:39 mark of the half, the Scots increased their lead to 4-2. SHU scored the final goal of the half with 3:28 to play when
Bri Kostan found a loose ball in front of the goal and deposited it into the back of the net.
Edinboro increased their lead to 5-3 with a goal ten minutes into the second half. The Scots added to their lead in the 68th minute. They scored the final goal of the contest in the 81st minute for the 7-3 win.
The Scots held an 11-7 advantage in shots in the first half but outshot the Griffins 9-2 in the second half. The Griffins did hold a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Carolin Edenhofner added 4 saves in net.
