Griffins Knock off Kutztown 2-1

Box Score

The women's soccer team made the long trip to Kutztown on Saturday afternoon looking to end a two game losing skid.  Seton Hill trailed 1-0 at the half but scored twice in the second half for the 2-1 victory.  SHU improves to 2-2 overall and 2-2 in PSAC play.

The Griffins came out firing again as they got a shot on net in the game's first 21 seconds by Emily LoPresti.  Kutztown got on the board in the 13th minute after a header found the back of the net after a scramble in front of the net.  The Bears took that 1-0 lead into the halftime break.

Just over six minutes into the second half, the Griffins tied the score at one with a goal from LoPresti.  Her shot went over the keeper's head into the back of the net.  Emma Bearinger assisted on the goal.  Less than five minutes later, Bearinger gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal at the 56:45 mark of the second half.  Griffin keeper Carolin Edenhofner made two saves in the last three minutes to preserve the win.  Edenhofner finished the game with 9 saves.

The Griffins return to action on Tuesday when they host Edinboro.
