Box Score Seton Hill closed out its 2014-15 PSAC Crossover road action on Sunday with a matchup against East Stroudsburg. A cold shooting effort from the field doomed the Griffins as they dropped a 59-45 decision. The Griffins shot just 25% from the floor in the contest. SHU falls to 5-8 overall and 2-6 in PSAC play.
After East Stroudsburg opened the game with a basket, SHU answered with baskets from
Chelsea Apke and
Meghan Mastroianni to take an early 4-2 lead. The Warriors built their lead to 18-11 with 7:21 to play in the first half. The Griffins then went on a 9-0 run to take a 20-18 lead. Mastroianni scored the first 6 points of the run and
Mariah Wells ended the run with a three pointer. ESU built the lead back up to 32-25 before
Lindsey Mifsud hit a three pointer near the end of the first half that cut the Warriors lead to 32-28 at the halftime break.
Over the first five minutes of the second half, ESU outscored the Griffins 10-1 to increase their lead to 42-29. SHU answered with 7 straight points on jumpers from
Jenna Kaufman and
Chelsea Apke and 3 free throws from
Meghan Mastroianni. ESU then went on a 10-2 run to push the lead back to 52-38 with 7:41 left in the half.
Kelly Brennan followed with a three to cut the lead to 52-41 but that would be as close at the Griffins would get.
Meghan Mastroianni led the Griffins with 14 points.
Jenna Kaufman added 7 points.
Halie Torris finished the game with 6 points.
Seton Hill will conclude PSAC Crossover action on Wednesday night when they host West Chester. Tip is set for 5:30 PM.
