Box Score The Griffin volleyball team opened their 2014 season at the Indiana (PA) Crimson Hawk Invitational. Seton Hill was able to knock off Malone by the score of 3-1 in their only match on Friday. SHU opened with a 25-20 victory in the first set. Malone tied the match at one with a 25-21 victory in the second set. SHU took a 2-1 lead with a 25-16 win in the third set. The Griffins were able to close out the match with a 25-12 victory in the fourth set.
Corrine Gahagen led the Griffins with 9 kills. Gahagen also added a team high 7 blocks.
Shelby Kyllo and
Cassie Hausfeld each had 7 kills. Kyllo also added 5 blocks.
Courtney Field ran the Griffin offense with 25 assists.
Lauren Teed led the Griffins with a game high 14 digs.
Abigail Malsch added 11 digs.
SHU will continue play in the Indiana Tournament on Saturday against two former WVIAC foes. SHU will take on WV Wesleyan at 10 AM and then Charleston at 1 PM.
