Box Score The men's soccer team kicked off its 2014 season at the Shippensburg Tournament with an opening round matchup with Georgian Court on Friday afternoon. Georgian Court scored in the first half and the Griffins responded with a second half goal but neither team could break the tie and the game ended with a 1-1 deadlock after 110 minutes of action. The Griffins dominated the stats page, outshooting Georgian Court by an 18-6 margin. SHU also held a 17-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Georgian Court opened the scoring with a goal in the 16th minute of the contest. They continued to hold that lead into the halftime break. SHU then tied the score at one with a goal in the 65th minute off of a corner kick by
Joe Smith.
Bovey Masiole headed in Smith's corner to tie the score at one. Neither team was able to score in the two 10 minute overtime periods with SHU holding a 3-0 advantage in shots.
Cameron Evans recorded one save in net.
Seton Hill will play their second game in the Shippensburg Tournament on Sunday afternoon when they battle the Griffins of Chestnut Hill at 1 PM.
