Griffins Open PSAC Crossovers with Two Victories

Seton Hill traveled to Shippensburg for the first day of the PSAC Crossovers on Friday.  The Griffins were able to defeat the host Shippensburg 3-1 in the early afternoon then defeated Pitt Johnstown 3-1 at Ship in the early evening.  With the two wins, the Griffins improve to 10-0 on the season.

SHU opened the Shippensburg match with a 25-23 win in the first set.  The Griffins then took the second set 25-20.  Shippensburg cut the SHU lead to 2-1 with a 25-22 win in the third set.  SHU closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set.  The Griffins won a hard fought 27-25 first set in the match against Pitt Johnstown.  Seton Hill took the second set 25-18.  UPJ rallied for a 25-23 win in the third set before SHU ended the match with a 25-14 win in the fourth set.

Corrine Gahagen and Shelby Kyllo each finished the Shippensburg match with 11 kills.  Kyllo also added 9 blocks.  Courtney Field had 9 kills and a game high 35 assists.  Lauren Teed finished with 25 digs.  Kyllo and Gahagen again led the Griffins in the win over Pitt Johnstown.  Kyllo finished with 18 kills and just 1 error in 34 attempts.  Gahagen hit .500 with 17 kills in 34 attempts.  Field added 8 kills and a game high 38 assists.  Field also had a team high 15 digs.  Teed and Abilgail Malsch each had 14 digs.  Courtney Oberlander added 10.

Seton Hill will travel to Millersville for two more PSAC crossovers on Saturday.  SHU will battle Millersville at 10 AM and Lock Haven at 12:30 PM.
