The Griffin volleyball team closed out play in the Davis & Elkins Tournament on Saturday afternoon.  SHU won two more matches on Saturday afternoon to improve to 4-0 in the tournament.  The Griffins defeated UVA-Wise, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-15) in their first match then defeated Urbana, 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-10, 25-15) to close out the tournament.  SHU is now 7-0 on the season.

Abigail Malsch led the Griffins with 11 kills in 26 attempts in the win over Urbana.  Corrine Gahagen added 9 kills and 6 total blocks.  Courtney Field led the Griffins with 26 assists.  Lauren Teed finished with 7 digs.  Shelby Kyllo led the Griffins with 13 kills against Urbana.  Cassie Hausfeld added 12 kills.  Malsch finished with 8 kills while Field and Maggie Murray each had 7 kills.  Field again led the Griffins with 41 assists.  Teed finished with a game high 23 digs.

SHU will host Shepherd on Tuesday evening at 7 PM in their home opener.
