MSOC Clinches Home Playoff Game in 1-0 win

Box Score

Greensburg, PA- Seton Hill men's soccer team won their last regular season game against Shippensburg 1-0 on Saturday evening at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The Griffins improve to 11-5-2 overall and 7-3-1 in PSAC play.

The first half was scoreless and both teams headed to halftime with 0-0 on the board.

In exciting fashion and cold weather, Rory McKinnon scored in the final minute of play to win the game and send the Griffins into third place overall in the PSAC.

The scoring play started when the Griffin defense cleared the ball to junior, Trevor Martz who made a great pass to a streaking Rory McKinnon in the far left corner. Rory made moves around two Shippensburg defenders and buried a shot past the goalkeeper and inside the far right post for the 1-0 advantage.

Seton Hill and Shippensburg both tallied 13 shots for the game and Shippensburg had the edge on corner kicks 6-3.

Goalkeeper Cameron Evans recorded six saves for the 1-0 shutout win.

Seton Hill will host California (PA) on Tuesday afternoon at 1 PM in the first round of the PSAC Tournament.
