Box Score Seton Hill hit the road for the last time in the regular season as they traveled to Slippery Rock on Friday and will make the trip to Edinboro on Saturday. The Griffins took the final two sets of the match at Slippery Rock and won the match by a 3-1 score. The Griffins improve to 26-4 overall and 15-4 in PSAC play.
The Griffins took an early 4-1 lead in the first set. A kill from
Corrine Gahagen gave SHU the 13-8 lead. SHU went on a 3-0 run to take a 16-10 lead. Back to back kills from
Courtney Field and Gahagen pushed the lead to 20-15. SRU cut the lead to 23-21 but kills from
Emily Gilles and
Cassie Hausfeld gave SHU the first set 25-22. The Rock took a 6-4 lead in the second set. SHU then went on a 7-0 run to take a 11-6 lead. Slippery Rock then answered with a 6-0 run of their own to take a 12-11 lead. Gahagen gave SHU an 18-17 lead with a kill. The Rock scored three straight to take a 20-18 lead and won the second set by a 27-25 score.
Seton Hill jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set. SHU then led 13-8 after a kill from Gahagen. The Rock scored 4 straight to cut the lead to 13-12. Both teams then battled back and forth and the Rock had their first set point at 25-24. Two attack errors from the Rock and a kill from Hausfeld gave the Griffins the third set 27-25. The fourth set was tight in the beginning until the Griffins went on a 6-0 run to take a 12-7 lead. The Rock anwered with 5 straight to tie the score at 12. Another kill from Gahagen tied the set at 21. A kill from
Shelby Kyllo, followed by a Gahagen ace and a Rock error gave SHU match point at 24-21. After the Rock scored two to cut the lead to 24-23, Kyllo ended the match with a kill.
Corrine Gahagen led the Griffins with 23 kills. She also added 3 aces and 3 blocks.
Shelby Kyllo finished with 10 kills and 4 blocks.
Cassie Hausfeld added 9 kills.
Courtney Field finished with 47 assists, 16 digs and 4 kills.

Seton Hill will close out the road portion of the regular season with a matchup at Edinboro on Saturday at 1 PM.
