Seton Hill hosted Edinboro on Friday night in the first of their two weekend PSAC West battles.  The Griffins rallied from being down two sets to one to defeat the Fighting Scots in five sets.  With the victory, the Griffins improve to 15-2 overall and 6-2 in PSAC play.  The PSAC West standings are a logjam as Clarion leads with a 7-1 mark.  Five teams are tied for second with 6-2 records.

Edinboro jumped on the Griffins early in the first set and never looked back as they cruised to a 25-15 victory.  The Griffins took a 12-6 lead in the second set and extended it to 18-10.  Edinboro fought back to make the score 20-18 but the Griffins scored 5 of the next six points for a 25-19 win.  The early part of the third set was tight as the Fighting Scots led 13-11.  Edinboro then went on a 7-3 run to extend the lead to 20-14.  SHU scored the next three to cut the lead to three but the Boro scored four straight and closed out the set with a 25-22 win.  The Scots got off to another quick start in the fourth set and led 6-2.  SHU rallied to tie the score at six.  The set eas tightly contested until Cassie Hausfeld ran off three straight kills and Shelby Kyllo had two aces during a seven point run that gave SHU a 20-14 advantage.  SHU was able to tie the match at two sets apiece with a 25-19 win in the fourth set.  SHU came out smoking in the fifth set and led 9-3 after a four point serving run from Courtney Oberlander.  Edinboro got to within 11-7 before two Corrine Gahagen kills extended the SHU lead to 13-8.  Edinboro cut the lead to 13-10 but made two hitting errors giving SHU the fifth set 15-10. 

Cassie Hausfeld led the Griffins with 14 kills.  She also added 5 blocks.  Corrine Gahagen followed with 13 kills and a match high 9 blocks.  Shelby Kyllo finished with 7 kills.  Courtney Field had a match high 31 assists.  Lauren Teed had a match high 24 digs and Courtney Oberlander added 19 digs.

Seton Hill will host Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM.
