Box Score Seton Hill opened its second round of PSAC West play by hosting Indiana (PA) in the McKenna Center on Friday night. After a slow start and dropping the first set, the Griffins responded to take the next three sets and win the match 3-1. With the victory, the Griffins improve to 24-3 overall and 13-3 in PSAC play.
IUP jumped out to a 12-10 lead in the first set, forcing Coach Hall to call a timeout. IUP extended its lead to 18-13. The Crimson Hawks took the first set 25-18. Seton Hill settled in in the second set and took a 12-7 lead and IUP called their first timeout of the second set. SHU extended its lead to 20-10 and cruised to a 25-13 second set win to tie the match up at one. SHU takes early 12-7 lead in the third set.
Cassie Hausfeld gets the set ending kill and Seton Hill takes set three 25-14 to take a 2-1 lead. Seton Hill climbed out to a early 6-2 lead in the fourth set and never trailed again winning the set 25-17.
Corrine Gahagen led the Griffins with 13 kills.
Cassie Hausfeld and
Abigail Malsch each added 10 kills.
Shelby Kyllo finished the match with 9 kills. Gahagen and Kyllo each added 3 blocks.
Courtney Field had a match high 32 assists.
Lauren Teed had a match high 14 digs.
Seton Hill will now host Clarion in a huge PSAC West battle on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM.
