Box Score The volleyball team took a break from PSAC play on Wednesday as they made the trip to Elkins, WV to take on Davis & Elkins. Seton Hill dominated play from start to finish as they swept the home standing Senators. SHU improves to 23-3 on the season.
The first set was tight in the early going until the Griffins went on a 5-0 run to take a 13-10 lead midway thru the first set. Kills from
Corrine Gahagen,
Abigail Malsch and
Courtney Field ended the set and gave the Griffins a 25-18 first set win. Seton Hill used a 9-0 run early in the second set to take a commanding 12-3 lead early in the second set. The Griffins cruised to a 25-10 win in the second set. With Gahagen serving, Seton Hill scored the first 8 points of the third set. Corrine had 4 aces during the run. SHU closed out the Senators with a 25-16 win in the third set.
Abigail Malsch and
Jessica Beal led the Griffins with 5 kills each.
Cassie Hausfeld added 4 kills as 10 Griffins had at least 2 kills in the win. Malsch and
Corrine Gahagen each had 5 blocks.
Courtney Field led SHU with 16 assists.
Maggie Murray added 10.
Lauren Teed led the Griffins with 10 digs.
SHU will return to PSAC action this weekend when they host Indiana on Friday and Clarion on Saturday in key PSAC West battles.
