Greensburg, PA- Seton Hill women's soccer beat Mercyhurst University 3-1 at home on Saturday afternoon. The win lifts the Griffins to a 6-5-2 overall record and a 5-5-2 record in the PSAC. Seton Hill is currently sitting in 10^th place within the PSAC conference standings.
 
The first minutes of play were sloppy from both teams as they struggled to connect passes. Seton Hill eventually was able to settle the ball and hold onto offensive possessions. Breanna Novosel made a great individual effort to put the Griffins on the board first. She scored at 20:54 for the Griffins first goal of the match.
 
Mercyhurst scored at 40:36 to tie the game 1-1 with five minutes remaining in the first half.
 
In the 53^rd minute, Bri Kostan made a heads up play and found a streaking Andrea Wisniewski who scored the second Griffin goal to gain a one-goal advantage.
 
In the 66^th minute Allison Mello scored on a penalty kick to cap off the Griffin scoring as Seton Hill rode out the clock to earn their 5^th PSAC game of the season.
 
Seton Hill outshot their opponents 8-6. Goalkeeper Carolin Edenhofner made 2 saves and several key defensive stops to keep the Mercyhurst attackers at bay.
 
The Griffins will travel to East Stroudsburg University (12-1, 11-1) on Wednesday, October 22 for their next match up. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
