Box Score Greensburg, PA- The Seton Hill men's soccer team hosted Mercyhurst University on Saturday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The Griffins lost 2-1 in a battle of PSAC contenders. The loss will drop Seton Hill to 6-5-2 overall and 3-3-1 in PSAC play.Mercyhurst capitalized on a corner kick opportunity early in the game. They scored in the 4
th minute to gain a one-goal lead. Mercyhurst held a 1-0 lead at half time. Seton Hill struggled offensively in the half, they were out shot by the Lakers 8-1.
Rory McKinnon scored the only goal for the Griffins. The goal came in the 75
th minute. The results came after a corner kick. The ball bounced around the box before Rory's quick reaction to head the ball into the net.
The Griffins had a few scoring chances late in the second half but key saves made my Mercyhurst goalkeeper Ryan Arvin and an offside call held back the Griffin offense.
Mercyhurst's Jack Watson scored the game-winning goal off a rebound in the 86
th minute.
Overall the Lakers offensive authority won the day, outshooting the Griffins 15-6 during the match.
