Griffins Fall at Home to Lock Haven 82-77

The Seton Hill men saw their five game winning streak come to an end after a 82-77 loss at home on Wednesday evening.  The loss closed out PSAC crossover action for the season.  With the loss the Griffins fall to 10-4 on the season.

Lock Haven came out of the gates strong and held a 20-10 advantage just under six minutes into the contest.  The Griffins were able to trim the lead to 24-21 on a Nate Perry three pointer at the 10:42 mark of the first half.  Over the next six minutes, Lock Haven outscored the Griffins by a 11-2 mark to push the advantage to 35-23 with just under five minutes to play in the half.  Zach Herman's layin with just over a minute to play cut the lead back to 37-32 and Lock Haven entered the halftime break with a 38-32 advantage.

Nate Perry's three pointer cut the LHU lead to 40-37 early in the second half.  Back to back jumpers from Kameron Taylor gave the Griffins their first lead of the contest at 51-49 with 11:30 to play.  From that point on neither team was able to push the lead to more than three points until the games final minute.  There were also nine ties the rest of the half.  Noah Davis gave the Griffins a 67-66 lead with 5:08 to play.  LHU answered with four straight to take a three point lead.  Four free throws gave the Griffins the lead back at 71-70 with 3:39 to go.  Malachi Leonard answered a LHU three to tie the score at 73 with two minutes left.  Two LHU free throws gave them a lead before Davis drilled a three from the top of the key to give SHU a 76-75 lead with 1:18 left.  LHU answered with a three and sealed the contest with four free throws down the stretch.

Malachi Leonard led the Griffins with 32 points.  He also added 9 rebounds.  Noah Davis finished with 13 points.  Nate Perry was the other Griffin in double figures with 11 points.

Seton Hill will return to PSAC West play next Wednesday when they host Pitt Johnstown.
