Griffins Go 1-1 in PSAC Crossovers

The Griffins split their PSAC crossover matches at home on Saturday afternoon.  Seton Hill dropped a 3-2 decision to Pitt Johnstown in their opener in the morning and then rallied for a 3-1 victory over Lock Haven in the nightcap.  SHU defeated UPJ 25-15 in the first game before falling 25-19 in the second set.  UPJ took set three 28-26 with the Griffins forcing a fifth set with a 25-14 win.  UPJ took the match with a 15-12 victory.  The Griffins defeated Lock Haven 25-21 in the first set with LHU responding with a 25-9 win in the second set.  The Griffins closed out the match with a 25-19 and 25-14 victories.  SHU is now 13-3 overall and 3-1 in PSAC play.

Corrine Gahagen led the Griffins with 16 kills in the UPJ loss.  Cassie Hausfeld and Abigail Malsch each added 15 kills.  Courtney Field had 37 assists.  Lauren Teed had 25 digs.  Field added 21.  Gahagen also added 5 blocks.  Gahagen again led with 15 kills in the Lock Haven match.  Hausfeld added 13.  Field led with 28 assists with Teed having 16 digs.  Shelby Kyllo led with 9 blocks.

SHU will travel to WV Wesleyan on Tuesday evening.
