The men's soccer team ran its winning streak to five games following a 3-0 shutout victory over Alderson Broaddus on Tuesday afternoon. The Griffins, who were fourth in the latest NSCAA Atlantic Regional poll and were receiving votes in the NSCAA national poll, improve to 6-1 on the season.
The Griffins controlled play in the first half, outshooting the Battlers by a 10-5 margin and it showed on the scoreboard as well as the Griffins took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. SHU took a 1-0 lead at the 37:54 mark when
Jack Wardale sent in a cross which was headed into the back of the net by
David Foster. The goal was scored off a short corner play. Seton Hill then struck again with just 51 seconds to play in the first half.
Joe Smith took a ball down the left side and got to the goal line and centered a pass which found
Matt Luchetti who slammed it into the back of the net. SHU closed out the scoring with just over 15 minutes to play in the contest when
Dilveer Chaggar scored from 35 yards out.
Jordan Sodhi recorded 4 saves to earn his second consecutive shutout.
Seton Hill will return to PSAC play on Saturday when they host California (PA) at 2:30 PM. It will also be the Griffins Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
