Griffins Lose Tough One on the Road 75-74

The men's basketball team traveled to Glenville state to take on the Pioneers in a conference contest. Glenville State hit one of two free throws with .6 seconds remaining in overtime to take a 75-74 victory over the Griffins.
 
In the first half both teams kept each other close. At the 10:25 mark the game was tied 12-12.  With 7:44 remaining in the half the Griffins only had a 2-point lead over the Pioneers 21-19. However, Seton Hill then went on a 6-0 run extending their lead over Glenville 27-19 with 5:11 on the clock. The Griffins biggest lead of the half. The Pioneers were able to cut down the Griffins advantage a bit leading to a 33-28 Seton Hill halftime lead.
 
In the Second half the Pioneers battled back and made up the first half deficit and with 11:45 to go the game was tied 45-45.  Both teams battled to gain an edge over their opponent.  With .49 seconds left on the clock the game was tied 65-65. Neither team managed to score before the final buzzer leading to overtime. David Windsor gave SHU a 67-65 lead with two free throws 15 seconds into the overtime period.  Glenville answered with a three to take a one point lead.  GSC extended its lead to 72-69 with 3 minutes to play.  Windsor tied the score at 72 with a three with 2:17 left.  Two GSC free throws gave them a two point lead before Windsor tied the score at 74 with a jumper in the lane with 11 seconds to play.  After a GSC timeout, the Griffins were whistled for a personal foul with .6 seconds to play.  The GSC player missed the first free throw but hit the second to give the Pioneers a one point victory. 
 
With the loss the Griffins record now stands at 11-10 overall and 8-9 in conference play. Malachi Leonard led the Griffins offense scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. David Windsor scored 17 points and Lenjo Kilo added 11 points. Seton Hill will travel to Wheeling Jesuit on Monday for their next game at 7:30PM.
