On Thursday afternoon the Griffins matched up against the Falcons of Fairmont State in the WVIAC tournament quarterfinals at the Charleston Civic Center. Seton Hill was unable to make up the first half deficit and suffered a 77-63 loss bringing their season to an end.
In the first half the Griffins got out to a slow start as the Falcons had a 8-3 lead after four minutes of play. Two three pointers from
Oliver McGlade and one three ball from
Kameron Taylor gave the Griffins the 12-8 lead at the 14:15 mark. Seven minutes the contest was tied 16-16 with 7:25 remaining in the half. The Falcons then made a 7-0 run giving them a 23-16 advantage over Seton Hill with 6:40 on the clock. The Griffins were unable to close the gap on the Falcons as they increased their advantage and sent Seton Hill into halftime trailing 38-24.
Seton Hill continued to struggle offensively in the second half. At the 10:20 mark the Falcons still had a commanding lead over the Griffins 57-38. Fairmont maintained their advantage through the remainder of the game leading to a 77-63 Griffin defeat.
Oliver McGlade led the Griffins offense scoring 24 points.
Malachi Leonard and
Max Kenyi both added 9 points apiece. With the loss the Griffins end the 2012-2013 season with a 16-12 overall record.
