Griffins Knock Off Second Place Fairmont State 76-73

Seton Hill hosted Fairmont State University in a big WVIAC conference matchup on Thursday night. The Griffins large 15 point first half advantage and composure down the stretch earned Seton Hill the 76-73 senior night victory.
 
During first half action play was very close between both squads. With 10:48 on the scoreboard the Falcons were leading the Griffins 14-13. Seton Hill then entered a scoring spree going on a 9-0 run snatching the lead back and taking a 22-14 advantage at the 8:41 mark. The Griffins managed to maintain that 8-point lead all the way till the 3:28 mark with a score of 33-25. In those final minutes Seton Hill outscored the Falcons 9-2 entering halftime with a commanding 42-27 lead.
 
Halfway through the second half the Falcons were only able to cut the Griffins advantage by 5 points trailing 56-46 with 9:48 on the clock. Four minutes later the 10-point gap between both teams remained with Seton Hill still ahead 66-56. The Falcons then gained momentum scoring 9 straight unanswered points making it a 66-65 contest with 3:13 remaining. Seven made foul shots by the Griffins extended their advantage to four, 73-69 with .41 seconds to go. The Falcons were then sent to the charity stripe and nailed both free throws making it a 73-71 game. Max Kenyi was sent to the line next only making 1 of the 2 foul shots changing the score 74-71 with .16 seconds on the clock. A Fairmont bucket at the .14-second mark silenced the crowd making it a one-point game 74-73. Oliver McGlade was then fouled sinking both free throws to clinch the 76-73 home victory for Seton Hill.
 
Seton Hill was lead by Max Kenyi and Malachi Leonard who each recorded 17 points apiece while Lenjo Kilo added 11 points. With the win the Griffins record now improves to 14-11 overall and 11-10 in WVIAC conference play. Seton Hill will be on the road on Saturday for their final game of the regular season. The Griffins travel to the University of Pitt Johnstown for a game at 3:00PM.
