Griffins Earn Second Straight Win at Home 60-56

On Saturday afternoon Seton Hill hosted the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan in a conference contest. The Griffins earned their second straight victory at home defeating the Bobcats 60-56.
 
The game started off rather slow with the score being tied 5-5 at the 13:18 mark. With 10:52 on the clock the Griffins went on a 5 point run taking a 6-point advantage over the Bobcats 15-9. Over the next two minutes WV Wesleyan quickly tied the game back up at 15 a piece. Both teams continued to battle for the lead as the game was tied 5 more times before the first half buzzer. With .18 seconds remaining it was a 30-30 ball game. Malachi Leonard sunk two free throws to send the Griffins into the locker rooms up 32-30.
 
During the second half the Bobcats scored first with a 3 pointer taking the lead 33-32. The Griffins answered back with 6 straight points taking a 38-33 advantage over the Bobcats at the 15:51 mark. Over the next six minutes Seton Hill managed to hold WV Wesleyan off and extend their lead to 8 points, 48-40 with 9:21 remaining. The Bobcats were not done fighting and battled back to tie the game 53-53 with 4:25 on the clock. A tip in by Leonard and three pointer from Oliver McGlade gave the Griffins the lead back 58-53 with 3:09 to left in the game. WV Wesleyan was sent to the line at the 1:07 mark and made both foul shots making it a 58-55 contest. David Windsor answered back with a layup to give the Griffins the 5-point advantage back 60-55. During the last seconds WV Wesleyan was able to knock down one more foul shot to make the final score, Seton Hill 60 West Virginia Wesleyan 56.
 
David Windsor led the Griffins offense scoring 17 points. Nate Perry and Malachi Leonard both added 11 points a piece in the Seton Hill victory. With the win the Griffins record improves to 13-11 overall and 10-10 in WVIAC play. Seton Hill faces Fairmont State next at home on February 21st at 7:30PM.
