The Griffin hit the road for a PSAC West contest on the road at Edinboro on Wednesday evening.
Kameron Taylor's jumper from the free throw line at the buzzer gave the Griffins a 95-93 victory. SHU improves to 5-2 on the season and 2-1 in PSAC West play.
Seton Hill came out guns a blazin and took a quick 15-6 lead four minutes into the contest on 8 points from
Nate Perry and 7 points from
Malachi Leonard. SHU continued their hot shooting and forced an Edinboro timeout at 11:37 with the Griffins leading 30-15. The Scots then began to trim into the lead and used a 13-2 run to trim the lead to 32-28 with 7:20 to play. Edinboro tied the score at 40 and then
Noah Davis gave the Griffins a 42-40 lead with 2:30 to play. Edinboro hit a shot late in the half to take a 49-47 lead at the break.
Nate Perry led with 15 points.
Malachi Leonard added 12.
Edinboro came out of the gates and used a 17-8 run to extend their lead to 66-55, forcing a Seton Hill timeout at the 16:06 mark. Four straight from
Kameron Taylor trimmed the lead to 68-62 with 13:19 left. Edinboro pushed their lead back to 73-64 at the under 12 media timeout.
Max Kenyi's three cut the lead to 74-73 with 9:30 to play. Two Taylor free throws gave the Griffins the lead back at 74-73. Kenyi gave the Griffins an 80-76 lead with 7:06 to play in the second half.
Noah Davis sent a rush thru the Griffin bench with a dunk that gave them an 85-80 lead with 4:55 to play. Edinboro tied the score at 88 with 2:45 to go. Kenyi's driving layup gave SHU the 90-88 lead with 1:50 on the clock. Three Griffin free throws gave them a 93-90 lead with under 30 seconds to play. The Scots tied the score at 93 with a three pointer with 16 seconds to play. Taylor then hit a jumper from the free throw line to give the Griffins a 95-93 victory.
Max Kenyi led the Griffins with 20 points.
Nate Perry and
Kameron Taylor each added 17.
Malachi Leonard finished with 16 points.
Noah Davis rounded out the Griffins in double figures with 14.
Seton Hill returns home on Saturday to play Indiana (PA) at 5 PM.
