Seton Hill Wins Season Opener over UPG

The Seton Hill men's basketball team opened up their 2013 season with a 90-54 home victory over Pitt Greensburg on Saturday evening.  The Griffins had six players reach double figures as head coach Tony Morocco was able to empty the bench early in the second half.

After Pitt Greensburg took a early 2-0 lead, the Griffins answered with 5 quick points from Kameron Taylor.  UPG kept the game close in the first half of the first half and trailed by just 2 at 14-12 with 11:47 to play in the first.  Seton Hill then closed the half on a 32-15 run to take a 46-27 halftime advantage. 

Seton Hill was able to push the lead to 31 with a 14-2 run in the first 6 minutes of the second half and would never look back.  UPG would cut the lead to 25 and the Griffins were able to push the lead to as many as 36 points in the second half before settling for a 90-54 victory.

Six Griffins reached double figures led by Noah Davis who had 15 points.  Malachi Leonard posted a double double of 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Oliver McGlade and Kameron Taylor each scored 12 points.  Zach Herman and Davis Windsor each finished with 10 points.  Davis just missed a double double with 9 rebounds.  Skylar Jones added 7 points and 12 rebounds. 

Seton Hill will host LeMoyne on Tuesday evening at 7 PM.
