Seton Hill closed out its nonconference schedule with a road contest in Columbus, OH on Saturday evening against Ohio Dominican. The Griffins led the game from the opening tip and closed out nonconference play with an 88-76 victory. The Griffins improve to 4-2 overall.
Seton Hill took a 4-0 lead on two
Malachi Leonard baskets in the game's first minutes and held on to that lead for the entire first half. SHU built their lead to 9-2 before Ohio Dominican made a little run to trim the lead to 11-8 at the 15:55 mark. SHU used a quick 6-0 run to extend their lead to 24-13 with 12:10 to play. Kameron Taylor gave the Griffins their largest lead of the half at 38-24 with 6:06 to go in the half. Two
Max Kenyi free throws gave the Griffins a 50-41 lead at the halftime break.
Ohio Dominican cut the Griffins lead to 54-50 with just over 16 minutes to play in the second half. The Griffins then went on a 14-4 run to push the lead to 68-54 with 11:53 to go in the half. Ohio Dominican answered with a 12-2 run to trim the lead to 70-66 with 9:20 to play forcing a Griffin timeout.

Noah Davis each hit lay ins before
Nate Perry drained a three to push the lead back to 77-66 with 6:51 to go. ODU scored the next four points before Taylor and Leonard hit jumpers to extend the lead back to 82-70 with 3:01 left. ODU made one last run to cut the lead to eight with a minute and a half to play but Taylor scored to end the run and get the lead back to double figures.
Kameron Taylor led the Griffins with 26 points.
Malachi Leonard added a double double of 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Oliver McGlade also reached double figures with 11 points.
The Griffins return to PSAC West play on Wednesday when they travel to Edinboro for a 7:30 tip.
