Griffins Fall to Lakers 3-1 in Regular Season Finale

The Seton Hill Griffins Volleyball team lost their last regular season game to the Mercyhurst Lakers 3 -1 on Saturday, November 16 in Erie, Pennsylvania. 

The scores reflect closely fought battles in the first 2 sets but the Lakers edged out the Griffins by score of 25-22 and 25-23. Facing a 2-0 set deficit the Griffins were able to win set 3, 25-18. Though it was not enough to swing the momentum as the Lakers win the 4th and final set, 25-17.

The statistics leaders for Seton Hill in their last regular season game are junior Corrine Gahagen with 14.5 pts, freshman Cassie Hausfeld with 13 kills, senior Katie Bloomgren with an impressive hitting percentage of .667, junior Courtney Field with 45 assists, sophomore Lauren Teed with 23 digs, and Corrine Gahagen with 5 blocks.
 
The Griffin's regular season ends with an overall record of 26-10 and a PSAC record of 14-8. Even with tonight's loss the Griffins will be moving on to the PSAC conference championships. Seton Hill earned the third seed in the PSAC West and will travel to number two seed California (PA) on Tuesday evening,  The winner of the match will move on to the semifinals to be played at the site of the highest remaining eastern division team.
