The Griffin volleyball team dropped its next to the last regular season match on the road at Gannon on Friday night. SHU dropped the first two sets before rallying for a third set victory. Gannon took the fourth set to close out the match. With the loss, the Griffins fall to 26-9 overall and 14-7 in PSAC play. Seton Hill sits one game ahead of fourth place Gannon with one match to play.
Gannon jumped all over the Griffins taking the first two sets of the match by 25-18 and 25-12 scores. SHU responded to trim the Gannon lead to 2-1 with a 25-23 victory in the third set. The fourth set was tied at 23, 24 and 25 before Gannnon scored the final two points for a 27-25 victory.
Shelby Kyllo led the Griffins with 12 kills.
Corrine Gahagen followed with 9 kills and
Cassie Hausfeld added 7.
Courtney Field added 29 assists. Hausfeld had a game high 23 digs.
Chelsey Regovich followed with 15 digs while
Lauren Teed added 14. Field was the fourth Griffin with double digit digs with 12.
Seton Hill closes out the regular season with a match at Mercyhurst on Saturday afternoon.
