The Griffin women's soccer team dropped a 4-2 decision at home to #25 Gannon on Tuesday afternoon. Seton Hill rallied to tie the score at two early in the second half but Gannon scored the final two goals of the match to secure the win. With the loss, the Griffins fall to 4-8 overall and 2-8 in PSAC play.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute of the contest when
Kara Lopoyda scored on a shot from just outside the top of the box. Brianna Novosel assisted on the goal. Gannon was able to tie the score with a goal with under 3 minutes to play in the first half.
Gannon took a 2-1 lead just 3 minutes into the second half. Seton Hill answered right back when
Madison Gourley scored off a cross from
Bri Kostan under two minutes after the Knights took a 2-1 lead. The Knights took the lead for good with a breakaway goal in the 73rd minute. The Knights closed out the scoring with a goal on a free kick with just over 5 minutes to play in the match.
Bethany Winter made 14 saves in net in the loss.
Seton Hill will travel to Mercyhurst on Saturday for a 1 PM start.
