The winless streak has reached eight games for the Seton Hill football team after a trip to Clarion on Saturday afternoon. Clarion jumped out to 20-2 halfime lead and came away with a 41-2 victory. With the loss, the Griffins fall to 0-8 overall and 0-4 in PSAC play.
The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early 13-0 lead in the early part of the second quarter thanks to two blocked punts recovered in the Griffin end zone. The Griffins were able to get two points out of the blocked punts when
Phillip Moreland returned the second PAT attempt 98 yards for two points to trim the lead to 13-2 with 11:44 to play in the second quarter. Clarion added another touchdown with 6 minutes to play in the second quarter and took a 20-2 lead into the halftime break.
Clarion scored twice in the third quarter on two touchdown runs and led 34-2 after three quarters of play. The Golden Eagles closed out the scoring with a 12 yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter.
The Griffins managed just 179 yards of offense, including just 65 in the air. Bryant Harper finished the day leading the Griffins with 67 yards on 17 carries.
Jarvis McClam finished with 44 yards rushing. Harper also had 2 receptions for 44 yards.
Chase Parker led the Griffins with 11 tackles.
Seton Hill will travel to Gannon next Saturday for a noon kickoff.
