Griffins Rally for 3-2 Victory at Edinboro

The Griffins fought back from two sets down and rallied for a 3-2 PSAC West victory on the road at Edinboro on Saturday afternoon.  The victory completes a perfect weekend as the Griffins swept Slippery Rock on Friday evening.  With the win, the Griffins improve to 17-5 overall and 6-3 in PSAC West play. 

Edinboro took the first set by the score of 25-20 and took a 2-0 lead with a 25-18 victory in the second set.  The Griffins cut the lead to 2-1 with 25-22 victory in the third set.  SHU squared the match at two with 25-13 win in the fourth set and then secured the victory with a 15-9 fifth set win. 

Corrine Gahagen had a very strong match, finishing with a match high 18 kills.  She hit .421 (18-2-38) in the match.  Corrine also added 10 total blocks.  Cassie Hausfeld followed with 10 kills.  Shelby Kyllo added 8 kills and 3 blocks.  Courtney Field led the offense with 35 assists.  Lauren Teed had a game high 26 digs.  Field added 10 digs.

Seton Hill returns to action next weekend when they head east to Kutztown for the second round of PSAC crossovers.  The Griffins will battle West Chester, Kutztown, Cheyney and East Stroudsburg.
