Griffins Win Second Straight at Home 77-70

On Thursday night the men's basketball team hosted the Senators of Davis & Elkins College in a conference match up. The Griffins were victorious at home defeating the Senators 77-70. With the win the Griffins record improves to 11-8 overall and 8-7 in WVIAC conference play.
 
In the first half after five minutes of play the Senators led the Griffins 8-5. Neither team was able to score over the next two minutes. The scoring drought was broken by two made free throws from Max Kenyi, two jumpers by Malachi Leonard, and a three pointer by Oliver McGlade which gave the Griffins a 16-12 led at the 10:34 mark.  In the remaining minutes Seton Hill managed to outscore the Senators 21-14 giving them a commanding 37-26 advantage with 1:37 on the clock. The Senators scored back-to-back three pointers to cut the Griffins first half lead drastically trailing Seton Hill 37-32 heading to the locker room.
 
In the second half the Griffins were able to maintain their lead until the 12:57 mark when Davis & Elkins tied the contest 48-48. After seven minutes of play the Griffins regained the lead and had a built a 66-59 advantage with 5:01 remaining in the game. The Senators tried to close in on Seton Hill but were unsuccessful leading to a 77-70 Griffin victory.
 
In the game the Griffins had 6 players in double figures. Malachi Leonard led the Griffin offense with 14 points, Oliver McGlade scored 13 points, Lenjo Kilo earned 12 points, Max Kenyi added 11 points, and David Windsor and Nate Perry both chipped in 10 points a piece in the win. Seton Hill will be on the road on Saturday as they travel to West Liberty for a WVIAC contest at 4:00PM.
