On Thursday night the men's basketball team hosted the Battlers of Alderson-Broaddus College. The Griffins could not make up the point deficit created in the first half and suffered a 71-57 loss at home.
The Griffins got on the board first scoring 1:00 into play. Seton Hill could not put the ball in the hoop over the next four minutes which led to a 8-0 run by the Battlers making it a 8-2 contest at the 14:39 mark. From that point on the Battlers steadily continued to increase their advantage over Seton Hill and with 6:21 left in the half the Griffins trailed the Battlers 26-13. Seton Hill managed to cut the Battlers lead down to nine before the halftime buzzer and entered the locker room behind 38-29.
The second half didn't look any better for the Griffins as the Battlers dominated play. At the 8:35 mark the Griffins were down 57-47. Shortly after Alderson Broaddus caught fire and went on a 9-0 scoring spree making it a 66-47 game with 4:56 remaining. Seton Hill could not make up the point differential in the remaining minutes and suffered a 71-57 loss at home.
Lenjo Kilo led the Griffin offense with 14 points and
Malachi Leonard added 10 points. With the defeat the Griffins now stand at 9-8 overall and 6-7 in WVIAC conference play. Seton Hill will host Concord University next on Saturday at 4:00PM.
