The Griffins volleyball team took the long trip to Allendale, Michigan to play in the Grand Valley State Tournament this weeked. The Griffins opened the tournament with a 3-1 victory over Notre Dame (OH). Seton Hill then dropped its second match of the day to Wisconsin-Parkside by the score of 3-0. The Griffins are now 4-2 on the season.
Seton Hill opened the match with a 25-21 victory over Notre Dame. SHU turned it on for a 25-9 win in the second set. NDC took the third set by the score of 25-18 before SHU closed it out with a 25-22 fourth set victory.
Christina Donahoe led the Griffins with 13 kills.
Corrine Gahagen followed with 10 kills.
Courtney Field led the squad with 23 assists while
Kelsey Profio was right behind with 22.
Lauren Teed collected a match high 23 digs.
Katie Bloomgren foillowed with 15.
The Griffins battled Wisconsin-Parkside for three sets but could not win any of the sets. Parkside took each of the sets by scores of 25-23, 25-20 and 25-19.
Christina Donahoe and
Abigail Malsch each had 9 kills for the Griffins.
Courtney Field led the Griffins with 19 assists.
Lauren Teed finished with 13 digs.
Seton Hill will battle Barry University and host Grand Valley State on Saturday.
