Griffins Suffer 2-1 Loss to Urbana

Box Score The Griffins hosted Urbana University at home on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference match up. Seton Hill's comeback was cut short as the final whistle blew suffering a 2-1 defeat.
 
The Griffins controlled possession of the ball early in the first half. The remainder of the half went back and forth as both teams went on small spurts leading to a 0-0 halftime score.
 
In the second half the Blue Knights came out ready to play scoring just two minutes into action and taking a 1-0 lead over the Griffins. The next twenty minutes both teams fought hard for the games next goal. At the 68:32 mark Brittany Mazzu scored off a header from an Abby Pearson corner kick to increase the Urbana advantage 2-0. The Griffins did not give up fighting for every ball and corner kick. At the 75:29 mark their work paid off when Madison Gourley put one in the back of the net to make it a 2-1 contest. Seton Hill continued to pressure Urbana's defense earning nine corner kicks in the second half. However, the Griffins were unable to convert on their offensive opportunities and suffered a 2-1 loss.
 
Bethany Winter recorded five saves in net for Seton Hill. With the loss the Griffins record stands at 5-5 overall. The Griffins will resume play on the road on October 2nd, as they face Ohio Valley at 4:00PM.
