Griffins Win Second Straight at Home

Box Score On Tuesday evening the Griffins faced the Rams of Shepherd University for their first WVIAC conference match of the year. The Griffins were able to roll to a 3-0 victory improving their record to 6-7 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
 
In set one the Griffins took a 9-6 lead after going on a four point run. The Griffins continued to hit with steam and had a 17-13 lead later in the set. The Rams got hot and went on a three point run closing the Griffin gap 17-16. Corrine Gahagen earned a block and an ace to give Seton Hill a 23-19 advantage. Shelby Kyllo ended the match with back-to-back kills to give the Griffins the set one victory 25-20.
 
In set two the Griffins battled and maintained the lead throughout never letting the Rams get within seven points of reach winning the set 25-18 and taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the match. The third set was again all Griffins as they rolled to a 25-16 win to complete the three set sweep.
 
Christina Donahoe led the Griffin attack, finishing with 8 kills. Abigail Malsch added 7 kills and 14 digs. Courtney Field ended the match with 14 assists and Kelsey Profio earned 10 assists. Corrine Gahagen recorded 3 solo blocks and 3 aces. The Griffins resume play on the road on September 28, at 7:00PM when they take on the Battlers of Alderson Broaddus.
