After a tight first half, Alderson Broaddus pulled away in the second half for a 73-59 victory over the Griffins on Saturday evening. AB outscored the Griffins 40-29 in the second half. SHU falls to 3-3 overall and 2-2 in WVIAC play.
Seton Hill jumped out to a 12-6 lead after going on a 6-0 run five minutes into the first half. SHU continued to hold the lead until AB tied the score at 17 with 9:23 left in the half. Over the next five minutes the game would be tied five more times, the last at 25 with 4:36 left. AB closed out the half on a 8-2 run to take a 33-28 lead into halftime.
Max Kenyi opened the second half with a three pointer to cut the lead back to two points. After two
Kameron Taylor free throws at the 14:48 mark, SHU trailed by just two at 37-35. AB began to take control of the contest at this point, going on a 10-0 run in 2:30 to push their lead to 47-35. Alderson Broaddus was able to push their lead to as many as 20 during the rest of the second half and the Griffin would get no closer than 12 points in falling by a 73-59 margin.
Kameron Taylor led the Griffins with 19 points. Max Leonard added 18 points and
Malachi Leonard tossed in 14 points. Taylor also pulled down 8 rebounds.
The Griffins are heading to Puerto Rico this upcoming week and will take on UPR-Rio Piedras on December 14th and UPR-Bayamon on December 17th in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
