Seton Hill Soars over Falcons 3-0

Box Score On Thursday night the Griffins hosted Notre Dame College (Ohio) in a non-conference contest. The Griffins battled with the Falcons, but Seton Hill was able to pull out wins in the first three sets to capture the 3-0 victory.
 
In set one Seton hill had an early 8-5 lead. The Griffins continued to extend their lead throughout the set and finished the Falcons off 25-17.
 
In set two the Griffins jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Falcons were able to get on the board earning the next point. However, the Griffins answered back with a 4-0 run making it a 7-1 set.  Mid set Seton hill had a comfortable 17-8 advantage. The Falcons gained momentum and entered a 4-0 run closing the gap on the Griffins making it a 17-12 set. With the Falcons only trailing by four, 23-19, Seton Hill played with composure and with a Larissa Santangelo kill and a Falcon error the Griffins earned the set two win 25-19.
 
In set three it was tied 4-4 early. The Falcons then went on a 3-0 run taking a 7-4 lead over the Griffins. Seton Hill was able to close the gap and with a Shelby Kyllo block took the lead back 10-9. The Falcons answered back and tied the set up once again 10-10. The Griffins then caught fire and went on a 9-0 run making it a 19-10 set. The Falcons could not make up the deficit and suffered a 25-19 set loss, and a 3-0-match defeat.
 
Corrine Gahagen and Christina Donahoe led the Griffins offense with 11 and 10 kills. Kelsey Profio earned 17 assists while Courtney Field earned 11 assists. On the defensive end Shelby Kyllo had 4 solo blocks. While Lauren Teed recorded 17 digs and Donahoe earned 11 digs. With the win The Griffins improve to 19-11 overall. The Griffins host Glenville State next on November 9th, at 7:00 for their last regular season contest.
