The Griffins made the long trip to southern WV to close out their road portion of the regular season. The trip opener was a success as the Griffins defeated Concord 3-0 on Friday evening. The Griffins have won ten of their last eleven to improve to 17-11 overall and 10-2 in WVIAC play. The team was also ranked ninth in the first NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Rankings, released earlier this week.
Seton Hill led throughout the first set and cruised to a 25-16 victory. The second set was tighter but the Griffins were able to run off four straight points to close out the set by a 25-22 margin.
Lauren Teed served the set's final three points including an ace. Concord jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead in the third set but the Griffins responded and closed out the match with a 25-16 victory.
Corrine Gahagen led the Griffins with 10 kills.
Abigail Malsch added 7 kills and
Larissa Santangelo and
Shelby Kyllo each had 6.
Courtney Field had 18 assists.
Lauren Teed has a game high 15 digs and
Katie Bloomgren pitched in with 10 digs. Santangelo and Kyllo each had 3 blocks and Gahagen added 2.
Seton Hill will close out the road trip on Saturday at Bluefield State. The match is set for an 11 AM start.
