Griffins Tie 1-1 at UPJ

Box Score The Griffins were on the road Wednesday afternoon as they traveled to Pitt Johnstown for a WVIAC conference contest. The Griffins scored with four seconds to go in regulation time to tie the game 1-1, however neither team managed to score in double overtime ending the contest with a tie.

In the first half possession went back and forth as each team had their fair share of opportunities. No goals were scored sending both teams into intermission tied 0-0. It was the same story in the second half as both teams battled to earn the first goal. At the 76:08 mark the scoreboard finally lit up with a Mountain Cat goal to give Pitt Johnstown the 1-0 advantage. The Griffins did not give up fighting and with four seconds remaining Paul Cornelius put a one in the back of the net off a rebounded scramble to tie the game 1-1 and send it into overtime.

In overtime action neither team could find the back of the net sending the game into double overtime. Once again scoring posed a problem for both teams ending the contest with a 1-1 tie.

Jordan Sodhi recorded 2 saves in the net for Seton Hill. With the tie the Griffins record now stands at 2-10-1 overall and 2-3-1 in WVIAC conference play. The Griffins will be on the road again for their next game as they travel to Concord University for a conference match up on October 13th, at 2:00PM.
