Meyers won his 285 pound bracket at the Mount Union Purple Raider Open by going 6-0 in the tournament.  John opened the day with a win by fall in his preliminary match.  Meyers picked up a major decision and a decision to advance to the quarterfinals.  In the quarterfinals, Meyers won by fall over Wyatt Bailey of Ashland.  John then defeated Justin Jaeckin of Cleveland State 8-1 in the semifinals.  Meyers then defeated Josh Terrill in the finals by a 3-2 score.
