Seton Hill continued play at the PSAC Softball Championships in Quakertown with a matchup with PSAC East champion West Chester on Thursday afternoon. The Rams scored in each of their first four at bats in route to an 8-0 run rule win. SHU drops to 22-23 on the season.
West Chester took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a leadoff homer to center field.
Paige Hertzog had a one out single in the top of the second but a line out double play ended the inning.
For the second straight inning, the Rams hit a leadoff homer, taking a 2-0 lead over the Griffins.
Amanda Huff had her 8 straight hits ended with a diving play in left field on a sinking liner in the top of the third inning.
Seton Hill threatened in the fourth inning. After two outs,
Ashley Perillo reached on an error.
Abbey Suhoski singled to put runners on first and third but a groundout ended the inning.
The Rams broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning. The key hit in the inning was a grand slam.
Christiana Skrabak and Huff singled to lead off the fifth but a strikeout, ground out and foul out ended the inning with runners on second and third.
With the loss, the Griffins fall into the losers bracket where they will take on Shippensburg in an elimination game at 5:30 PM on Thursday.
