Box Score Seton Hill traveled to Edinboro, PA for a first round PSAC Tournament matchup with the Fighting Scots. It marks the second PSAC Tournament appearance for the Griffins in two years of play in the PSAC. Edinboro led from the onset in route to a 68-53 victory that eliminated the Griffins from the PSAC Tournament. SHU ends the season at 12-17.
Edinboro jumped out to a quick 7-4 lead at the under 16 media timeout.
Jharrin Gill and
Chelsea Apke each hit buckets for the Griffins. Apke hit another bucket at the 11:35 mark but by that point Edinboro had increased its lead to 21-11. The Scots were able to push their lead to 30-15 at the under 8 media timeout.
Jenna Kaufman hit a three to cut the lead to 30-18 before the Scots scored 6 of the next 8 points to take a 36-20 lead with 3:40 to play.
Meghan Mastroianni hit three free throws with 5 seconds to go in the half to trim the halftime lead to 38-24.
Edinboro extended their lead to 45-28 at the under 16 media timeout of the second half. A three point play from
Halie Torris and a lay in from
Alexandra Hay cut the Boro lead to 48-34 with 12:10 to play. SHU continued to trail by 14 points, 55-41 at the under 8 media timeout. The Scots pushed their lead to 62-44 at the under 4 minute media timeout.
Chelsea Apke finished her collegiate career as the only Griffin in double figures with 14 points.
Halie Torris added 9 points.
Mariah Wells tossed in 7 points.
