Box Score Seton Hill and Millersville renewed their postseason rivalry on Thursday evening in the winner's bracket of the PSAC Baseball Championship at Kelly Automotive Park in Butler, PA. SHU took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first inning but the Marauders outscored the Griffins 6-1 the rest of the game for a 8-4 win to send the Griffins to the loser's bracket of the PSAC Tournament. SHU is now 40-10 overall.
Millersville got on the scoreboard first in the top of the first inning with a two RBI double to the right center field gap. The Griffins answered with three runs in their half of the first.
Pat McCarthy led off the inning with an infield single.
Anthony Fanelli was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second with no one out.
Nick Sell then hit the 1-0 pitch over the right center field wall to give the Griffins a 3-2 lead. The Marauders got all three of those runs back in the top of the second inning. They used a two run homer and a bunt for basehit with a runner at third and two outs for a 5-3 lead.
The Marauders added two more runs on three hits in the top of the fourth to push their lead to 7-3.
Chris Miller cut a run off the Marauders lead with a leadoff solo homer to right field in the fourth. Millersville added a run in the top of the seventh inning to increase their lead to 8-4. Sell doubled with one out in the eighth and
Logan Urtz reached base after a wild pitch strikout but two pop outs ended the Griffins inning.
Mike Bittel suffered the loss, only throwing the first two innings of the game.
Nick Sell led the offense with a 2-3 performance and 3 RBI.
Chris Miller also added two hits.
Seton Hill will now face California (PA) in an elimination game at 12:30 PM on Friday.
