Box Score The Griffin men's soccer team battled number two seed Bloomsburg in the semifinal round of the PSAC Tournament on Friday afternoon in Erie, PA. The match marked the first time the Griffins have advanced past the first round of a conference tournament in school history. The game remained scoreless for nearly 87 minutes before Bloomsburg found the back of the net off a header to take a 1-0 lead. The Griffins were eliminated from the tournament by that same 1-0 score. SHU falls to 12-6-2 overall.
The first half of the contest was very tightly played with neither team having a great scoring chance. Both teams registered 3 shots, 0 shots on goal with Bloomsburg holding a 2-0 advantage in corners in the first half. The second half saw more offense as the teams combined for 15 shots in the second half. The Griffins had two shots from

Rory McKinnon blocked as they turned up the pressure in the 56th minute. SHU had another flourish in the 65th minute as they had two shots and a corner kick but could not beat the Bloomsburg keeper. The Huskies had the best scoring chance of the contest to date as they finished a corner with a diving header but Griffin keeper
Cameron Evans was right there to make the save. Bloomsburg finally cracked the scoreboard with just over three minutes to play in regulation. The Huskies used a throw in and two headers to beat Evans in the upper right hand corner of the net to take the 1-0 lead. SHU had two late offsides calls but could not get another shot and dropped the 1-0 decision. Evans recorded two saves in net.
Seton Hill must now wait until Monday when their postseason fate will be revealed. The Griffins were fourth in the latest NCAA Atlantic Regional Rankings. Bloomsburg was fifth. Number three Notre Dame (OH) was eliminated from the Mountain East Tournament by Wheeling Jesuit yesterday. The top four teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Tournament.
